Okay, this is what we know. Kristen has Hodgkins Lymphoma Nodular Sclerosis. It is the most common type of Hodgkins Lymphoma. She has an appointment with her surgeon tomorrow to just check her wound. Then after that she has a PET Scan at the new Murray hospital. The oncologist wanted her to have this scan before they see her. She has the oncologist appointment on Friday at noon. Hopefully this will tell what stage she is at and what the treatment will be.

Kristen, we are praying for you daily, and may times daily. You are strong and amazing and can get through anything. It'll be a tough battle but you you can win! love ya, and I'm glad we have somewhere to get updates as they come.

This whole cancer thing sucks - bad. But the blog is adorable!

Hi Kristen. This is the first time I've ever looked at a blog let alone ever typed on one. I have to agree with Brittany, Cancer sucks. What else can you say about it? We all know what the power of prayer can do and I for one believe in miracles.
Two of my best friends have had cancer (different kinds) and they said one thing that helped them deal with the cancer/chemo/nausea/etc. is humor. Dark humor, granted, but humor none the less. Here are 3 short examples:
You know the Christmas letters we all get that explain in great detail the events of a families' life that have done everything short of winning the Nobel Peace Prize? Well, she took one of those, crossed out the names, and mailed it to some of her closest friends along with her Christmas card and said, "My life sucks this year so I thought I'd borrow someone elses."
She let her kids shave her head for Family Home Evening.
My personal favorite was when she showed up at a party we were having in her new mullet wig complete with attached hat that said something like "Keep on trucking".
There were lots of prayers and blessings of course, and many trying times, but she said life was not going to revolve around her cancer but cancer around her life.
Thanks for letting us in and be part of your support group. Family and friends mean everything.
